Don't want to keep stock HU
Now that I've gotten this far into the install of my stereo system, I've decided that I don't want to keep the stock HU as I had originally planned.
The whole EQ bypass thing etc., is too much of a pain in the a$$.
I think my background system is pretty good:
1) Image Dynamics 12" IDQ DVC subs wired such that they are 2ohm each.
2) US Acoustics 2200F (300W x 2 @ 2ohm stereo)
3) Front speakers are Image Dynamics 5 1/4 Chameleons with the tweeter mounted in the center of the midrange to keep the soundstage intact.
4) Rear speakers are Polk DX6s due to their ease of installation and the rave reviews they've achieved from this board.
5) US Acoustics 4 channel 4x65W amp to run the fronts and rears.
The aforeementioned products are easy to install. I'm looking for a way to install an aftermarket HU as well as my AudioControl THREE.1 EQ.
I've seen those who have taken it upon themselves to build a dash kit that fits the aftermarket gear. They found a place where they can get the matching "woodgrain" that came with their car. Unortunately for me, my woodgrain is the darker ebony woodgrain. I haven't seen a way to replace it yet. If you know of one, I'd be forever grateful!!!
What I'd like to see is someone who has done so and can post pics/specs on how to do so.
If there is nobody who can do so, I guess I'll have to pioneer a way to upgrade from this complete POS system that Acura/Bose stuck us with.
I want a dash kit that will allow me to fit an aftermarket HU as well as the aftermarket EQ I have. I have yet to see someones install that covered both.
I will get it all in. It just might be ugly in the interim. I'm going to go with a JVC HU and trunk mounted 12 disc MP3 changer.
I'm sure the install will be nothing short of horrific. As always, I post my experiences on:

YMMV, so take it with a grain of salt
Thanks all!
