different info, which to believe?

got some extra money, and was wondering how much it would cost for 2 12" p3 subs and what amp would be able to handle that. i first went to the palisades park mall best buy, where the guy there told me i would need 2, 2400w 2ch amps; one for each sub. i then asked the same question at the garden state plaza best buy, where the guy there told me tha tone would be enough....so im asking anyone out there who REALLY knows about this stuff to help me out so that i can figure out how about i am to do this. the second guy also told me it would cost a little more than $2000. is this accurate? i would love to do this installation, and probably would have, but am now maybe interested in something else, like probably a drop and rims.

btw...expect a lot of questions from me, as i change my mind very easily.

This all depends on the kind of sound you are looking for, and how much money you want or don't want to spend. Where in NJ are you? You should swing by my shop if you get a chance, we're in Colonia (Woodbridge Township) about 15 minutes from Garden State Plaza.

a few things i have learned as a consumer and as a employee of best buy

1. employees are placed in departments based on availibility not knowledge
2. employees are morons and make you think they know everything
3. best buy is overpriced
4. best buy sells shit product

IF for some odd reason you do make a purchase from bestbuy, get the stupid service plan. yea the thing costs alot but after 1.5 years, just fry the thing and say "electrical surge" .

Is the rest of the system ready for a two thousand dollar subwoofer? I'd consider spreading that money around to maximize your overall sound quality before I'd concentrate on just the subs.

(But, I'm an old guy: more concerned about SQ than SPL...)
