Dealer XM install -- price quote

Had to take my TSX in to get the CD fixed and asked about getting an XM radio tuner installed. Here's the quote:

    Grand total $1498.90 -- and that's just for the parts! Impressive that they charge extra for the manual. All this for what I understand to be an $80 Alpine unit.

    I guess I'm going elsewhere.

    Hahaha. Go buy the XM Commander and send your 'not an ashtray' console section to BassMechanic for a better deal/setup.

    i guess they figure there is a sucker born every minute. dam you can almost get nav for that price.

    Does the TSX radio have RCA inpmuts for teh XM Commander?

    No it does not. You will need a SonHond adapter to splice into the OEM wiring. A search will detail how exactly to do this.

      I just got a quote from my dealer on the XM install - and he said $1,050 - and that includes labor (which is the vast majority of the cost) just an FYI...
