Thumbs up

Hey MToker, I'm interested!! Just replaced everything (new spkrs, amps, wiring, etc.) but the h/u and I'm already wanting better sound and features of a new h/u (like your Pioneer).

Why not do a double DIN? There's enough room for 2 DINs with space in between. Then you could do DVD & slide-out monitor, or h/u & CD changer or EQ?

As I'm sure you know, there is more to the stereo face plate than meets the eye! When you remove the center console and wood trim, etc., you see the face plate is slightly larger and thicker than what you see. It has holes and tabs all around it for securing the wood trim and center console, as well as 2 clips that secure the unit to the metal frame behind your wood trim.

My local audio shop can have a face cover made of Vetetian burlwood (exact match of OEM trim), aluminum, fake carbon fiber, or real c/f in colors for $60 - $90 depending on the material. But they would still have to fabricate the backing and brackets to hold the h/u out of MDF. So I might do do that part myself? It's a lot harder than people would think.
