More specific?

I'm getting Ron to put in a new system into my car. All priced out pretty nice $8,500 plus install another $2,000 most likely.

Kenwood Monitor, Navi, Equalizer, 5.1 Decoder, DVD Changer, Center Channel Speaker
JL Audio mono and multi amps, 2 10w3-D4
Polk DX6 Speakers (might change to something else)

But I wanted to also install a good alarm to protect my investment. I'm looking at the Compustar 2WSS Series. I've got a few questions...

How much they cost?
Any Problems with the remote start? Is it worth it?
Does the pager from Compustar work as good as it sounds?
Where can I get a good install?
Any problems with that you have or know of?
Any suggestions or other alarm ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Darn right from LA (the state)

No one local that does a good job, or come even close to the work I've seen. Our local store only offers 1 alarm, 1 type of subwoofer and 3 types of headunits(alpine, sony, pioneer) with 5 types of speakers. Not a wide selection, Circuit City is almost better than that.

I have the compustar you speak of. It's an amazing alarm. I'm sure Ron can install it too. Mine is still in it's box, but it looks darn impressive!

1. Cost?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1361081832 (Latest model)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1361646192 (Last year model)

2. No problem with remote start but you need an immobilizer by-pass box. It's worthed. It's a very "cool" feature.

3. The 2-way paging feature is very nice. At least you know it's not your car when a siren goes off. I had the "knock here to page the vehicle owner" paging sensor on for a week. I figure it would cause problem if someone is "interested" in your car and start paging you. If you dont appear, he will assume that you are out of range. God knows what will happen next.

4. I think any shop can install it. But you might wanna pick a shop with high profile since money seems no problem to you. I installed mine myself so installation is no biggie.

5. I don't know about the SS (Spread Spectrum 2SSW) model but the FM (2FMW) has approx. 1/4 mile range (verified). However, the range gets shorter if there is something blocking the line of sight. It gets a lot worse if you are in buildings. But it's still the nicest alarm that I've seen.

Conclusion: CompuStar

WE have the alarm for $375 if anyone is interested, then you just need someone who knows how to install it....not your typical alarm, that's for sure.
