Component speakers
Will the MB Quart PCE-216's component speakers fit in our tsx's? or will it need modifications?

With the 3/4" spacer, I think they would fit, but I don't know their depth or the mag diameter. From looking at the diagrams here:

I suspect that the terminal might hit and require trimming of the metal... but the diagrams suck ass and there are no size specs. The drawings look bigger than the Reference from behind.

Yes, they do. But the OE TSX speakers are 1-1/8" thick. If you subract out the thickness of the outer edge of the MB Q frame and the space you need in front of the driver for the surround (don't want that pressing against the back of the door panel grille), you have about 3/4" plus foam tape, or 7/8".
Those drawings do NOT assure me that I can get the side-mounted top and bottom speaker terminals out of the smaller round speaker hole with that size spacer. The possibility is that you would need to mod the hole on two sides to make room for those terminals. These terminal bumps on the frame seem bigger in the drawing than the Reference MBQ driver frame.
Of course, my fix would be to go with the 5-1/4"s, they usually ahve better midrange anyway : )
