CL headunit install...
I have a 97 2.2CL and i wanted to install a pioneer headunit into my car. Im pretty sure my factory speakers are OEM amped. I have installed headunits before but i dont know what to do when a car has a factory amp. I was just wondering how i would go about installing the pioneer into my car. I wanna keep my factory speakers for now and i will be installing an amp with two subs. I just need to know how to either run the amp wires to my front outputs or just run the speaker wires to the pioneer. HELP me out...Please!!!!

I'm no expert, but typically the main car harness has everything you need to get to the speakers, power, ign pwr, ground, etc. Most (not all) oem systems have the amp in the HU. (My 2002 Camry did have an external amp, but my 2001 TL has a preamp loop coming out to the bose eq, and back into the HU for amplification).
My guess is that if you buy a harness adapter from a car audio shop you'll be fine. (Crutchfield sells these if you can't find locally).
On a side note, if you're going through the trouble of installing an amp for your new subs, you might as well install a main amp at the same time. Or, better yet, just get a 5-channel amp and you'll only need to install one.
