cd: er-e1 error

I need help for my 2001 cl. I replaced the factory stereo with a new one. Bother are giving me this error er-e1 when I push the cd button every time. There were no cds in both stereos when this error occurs. I have disconnected the battery and fuse and still the same. Why would this be happening?

The cd player could be broken. When you pull the fuse does the cd player shift between disk checking if there is cds? Try hitting the side of it. Its a common problem if you burn cd b
ecause they are thick and our cd players are very sensitive.
