bypassing bose amp?

I looked at the wire harness of the bose amp in my trunk(next to the jack), it looks like ther are set of wires coming from the head unit into the amp, and then out of the amp back to the speakers. couldnt you use the input(from the head unit) wires for a LOC, and then use the output wires to rewire the OEM speakers with a aftermarket amp. Has anyone done this, I cant see why it wouldnt work, my amp is 2ohm stable( to run the 2ohm bose speakers), and i dont feel like spending a lot of money to upgrade the head unit, and speakers.
