Bought Soundstream AMP, What speakers?
I don't know much about stereo setups. I got a Soundstream Rubicon 805, and I have no idea what speakers I should use.
All I know is that I want it nice & clean. I'm replacing all speakers, and adding subs. Any suggestions?
Here are the specs.
Rated Power (4 ohms, 12.6V): 50Wx4 + 200W x 1
Rated Power (2 ohms, 14.4V): 100Wx4 + 300W x 1 or 4ooW x 1 (1ohm)
Maximum Rated RMS Power: 800W
Minumum Load Impedance: 2 ohm, 1 ohm(sub)
On Board Crossover: 12dB/oct HP/BP, 24dB/oct LP
Power and Ground Connectors (gauge): 4
Dimensions (WxDxH in):19 x 11 3/8 x 2 1/4
Dimensions (WxDxH mm):483x288x57
THD: <0.1% (20Hz to 20kHz)4ohm, 12.6v
Signal-to-Noise: <100dB
I don't know what much of this means, I just heard this was a good amp, and I got it for a good price.*shrug*

Mantis buddy, how much you pay for the 802? As far as soundstream goes, great company and a great product. I have five amps from them in the CL and I love everything I have heard. In fact, I just installed a pair of 1002s (their 1k watt amps) each feeding one of my ECLIPSE subs and those bitches pound. IMO, the only better amps than soundstream are BRAX and ZAPCO.

well, off the top of my head I would probably reccomend the Focal Utopia 165W3 3-way components or the CDT 642DTM's. Have you heard either of these? As for subs, I am a fan of the JL W7's and the ECLIPSE 88120TiDVC Titaniums. Then there are the IDMAX's from Image dynamics but honestly I would reccomend the eclipses and the JLs over just about anything else less the Utopia sub and the Velodynes....

I've heard of all of those except for the CDTs. Could/should I use the Focal utopia 165W3s for both the front and the back? Would there be any fitament issues? I've heard really good things about the eclipse subs, I think I'll go with those.
Ohh, and one other thing(please bear with me as I know little about stereo setups. The 165W3s have 3 separate pieces to them, where am I supposed to put all of those little pieces?
I guess the install guy would know where to put it.

CDT is a very good quality company and personally I love my set. As far as the rear goes, I would probably suggest a 2-way set instead of a 3-way set. Placement wise in the front, I would put the woofer in the doof and the mid and tweet in fiberglass kickpanels. Good choice on the ECLIPSES - you wont be sorry at all.

Image Dynamics IDMax subs do dominate every competition and will blow away any other sub, but it is not worth the money to buy both the subs (450 each) and sufficient wattage (1000-2000 watt amplifier) just stick with some jlw6's or some alpine type r's
they are super clean and still hit hard....

soundstream
I have a 405 Soundstream for sale, but no rush, I dont mind if it collects dust, yet if the price is right.....
My civic has all Orions Mid-Highs-Lows and it kick ass with the soundstream at 400 watts amongst five channels. MB-Quart are great, JL audio is what I am going with in my ClS.
Just put your to the grindstone...check out each brand at local stereo shops and if the price is right.....

From what I've heard - Diamond Audio is the best for your buck. They're cheaper than MB Quarts and sound a helluva lot better.
Personally, I'm on a budget and I'm going with two of my favorite companies - MTX and Pioneer.
Here's what I plan to set up this summer (* denotes already in place):
*Pioneer Receiver 6300
Pioneer 5.25 Components
*Pioneer 3way 6x9s
*MTX 4 channel amp
MTX 2 channel amp
Pioneer 12" VCCS Sub
1 Farad Capacitor
I had a lot of bass in my last car (142.0 db's) and this time I want to go for sound quality.
