Boston area car audio expert?
Can anyone recommend a good audio installer in the Boston area, that I can get advice about what went wrong with my system install?
Installed by "Autotoys" randolph MA:
JLXRs in the front and back doors --4channel amp
10 inch sub---mono amp
$2000 total.
I brought the car back and they were just trying to get rid of me...
bass is drowning everything out, even after turning the gain on the amp all the way down.
I am currently getting some distortion at mid volume in my door speakers.
I have really high highs and really low lows, nothing mid freq at all...I was really hoping I could get that punching base and rich mids with this setup..something went wrong
Has anyone ever gotten their money back, for something like this?

Personally I would take the door panels off (there are threads that describe in detail how to), check that the speakers are secured correctly, wires are not grounding out and possibly and some dyanmat extreme. I doubt the speakers are sealed in the door so dyamat would really help the sound quality... What model Acura do you have? The 3rd gen TL's really need a sound processor such as the rockford 3sixty to fix the EQ curves from the factory stereo. Thats if you are using the factory stereo...
EDIT: As far as your subwoofer, check the crossovers on your amps. I wouldn't run the subwoofer any higher than 80hz. Anything higher always seems to drown out sound to me. Especially if its setup to run to 120hz or something.
