Boston Acoustic 6.5 Pro 3-way?
Hi guys,
My friend is parting out his CL-S and I may buy some stuff from him. I am considering buying the Boston Acoustic 6.5 Pro 3-way from him. It has a 6.5" woofer, 4" mid, and 1" tweeter. Is anyone running this setup? I just want to know how much modification may be necessary to get these components to fit and if its even worth it in terms of sound quality. I have DX6's up front now and will move them to the back for rear fill if I go with this setup. Any suggestions on an amp to run these 4 speakers/side?
Also, I am going to get a CVA-1006 in-dash tv as the brain of the system. Any suggestion on a good in-dash DVD player to go with this that doesn't cost too much?
Thanks,
Matt

if u dont know the quality of these comps...i feel for ya. they are great sounding comps. the only prob is w/3 per side, its alot to contend with. the most common install is 6.5 in the door, 4" and tweet in kickpods. i think its well worth the effort, once its done.
any nice amp w/at least 150x2 wrms would do.

Thanks systek! I heard these were great components and just wanted to verify. The setup with the 6.5's in the door and the 4's and tweeters in kickpod sounds good and may be worth the time and money.

I got the specs for the Boston 6.5" driver:
Mounting Cutout Diameter 5"
Mounting Depth 2-3/8"
Mounting Depth with Spacer 2-1/16"
The max mounting depth without modification is 2 3/4" (please correct me if i'm wrong) and the cutout is definitely small. How much work would it take to get this in the door? The 4.5" and tweeter will need to go in a kickpanel but I'm worried about the 6.5" placement. Any input is greatly appreciated!

using a 5/8" wood ring or spacer and you should be in business. what we have seen on the board though is that the measurement is slightly different from the door skin to the window, so measure to verify there is enough space for your application. as for the cutout diameter of the stock hole, im not sure what it was, someone else will have to help ya on that one, since i cut my doors to make my 6.5s fi5
