Question Best way to get tight bass

I am too looking at upgrading the amp, sub, speakers with something more powerful... I recently tried a JL audio speaker box in my trunk. It was very boomy and just plain aweful...my whole car was reverberating like some kind of rap gangster ride!!

I have had these kind of problems in a car before, seems like when a sub is placed in the trunk it "booms" too much, overpowers and distorts the music...

I am trying to re-create the tight beat that my Lexus Nakamichi system had. What is the best approach to this?

Also, does the Bose system have speaker level or line level outputs? What is the opinion on the Dynaudio 3-way set powered by a 4-channel Xtant?

What is the best location for a sub/amp to prevent theft? My last Kenwood eXcelon equipment in my old Honda Accord was all stolen (CDs and equipment worth over $3000) by punks so I'm concerned about mounting in the trunk.

Sounds like you just need to maybe swap out your stock woofer in the deck and upgrade it to a slightly larger sub. The dynaudio's are great speakers I sell them alot to guys in Japan and they go nuts over them. Running them with a xtant anp would be killer. Good choice.

You can just switch the stock subs? Is it a lot nicer? How much would it cost to do something like that? I'm assuming i have to get new amps too? So in doing this, i wont be having a box in my trunk either rite? sorry... newbie with audio stuff here.
