Best sound dampening material...

Hello all,

I'm looking to decrease the amount of road noise I'm getting inside the cabin what is the recomended sound dampening material these days? I've heard of Dyno Mat, Cascade and B-Quiet
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Norcalsguy

I second Cascade. It is also a lot lighter than most of the other materials out there...

Ask Ron (StreetEffectz) but I will confirm that Cascade is by far the best sound proofing stuff out there. Here's why:

1) Incredibly tacky - once you get this stuff warm, it sticks to anything and holds like glue
2) Very flexible - Ron did my trunk and he was able to mold it around every curve
3) Most importantly.... NO SMELL... Dynamat stunks. I ran out of Cascade and had to do my rear doors with Dynamat. Now every time I open my sunroof, I can smell that stuff. It stinks. Gonna order some more Cascade and re-do my doors.

Here is a post about the install with lots of pics: Audio Install pics

Here is my trunk.

yeah, you need a heat gun and a little roller to press it down.

Just leave it out in the sun for a few hours and it will be nice and pliable.
