Best alarm/remote starter
i will soon own a 6MT 04 TL n i was in a Lexus IS300 forum the other day n i was told that one of the best remote starters was made by Compustar for manual transmission cars.
I wanted to know if any of you TL owners had installed remote starters in your car and if so wich one??
Which are the best ones??

Best Alarms & Remote Starters
Unfortunately Directed Electronics the makers of Viper and Clifford don't support their products on MT cars. There has been too many problems, there is no fool proof method. Both of the brands offer great alarms. If you are looking for the best alarm look at the Clifford AG5. If you want a good alarm then consider the Viper 690xv. Both offer Directed's excellent quality.

TL-SHAWD 6MT Rocks!
I installed a COMPUSTAR on my 2000 TL with no problems, they did say it would work on manual transmissions as well. It uses FM so the range is incredible, about 1/2 mile of more.

Ok compustar is garbage and they don't support manulal transmission the way it should be, one out of 5 units have problems, Viper is the best but it only supports auto tranny. No shop in their right mind would install one for manual tranny. Imagine a kid plays ball infront of your car and you start it in gear, thats the reason I would never install remote start in a manual transmission car, get a regular alarm with a pager by Viper, if you come to my shop it's $300 installed.
