anyone used/heard earthquake sound shallow woofer systems?
i'm looking to upgrade the OEM bose woofer in my '00 TL w/ navi. i am trying to avoid having a box in the trunk.
does anyone know the exact measurement of the cutout hole in the rear deck for the sub? i looked but didn't have a tape measure. looks to be around 8-8.5". per acura, the OEM woofer is an 8.5". but that doesn't necessarily mean the cutout is the same size.
earthquake sound makes the following two woofers that seem like they may fit without messing with the control arms that hold up the trunk. anyone ever heard these woofers used in this application?
SWS-8
mounting depth: 2 1/8"
cutout diameter: 7 7/8"
SWS-10
mounting depth: 2 11/16"
cutout diameter: 8 7/8"
i would like to use the SWS-10, but that may require cutting. but it should fit with a 1/2" to 3/4" spacer, right? what do you guys think? is there enough clearance between the woofer and the grill? i haven't taken off the grill yet.
also i will be powering whichever woofer i get with 200W rms from my alpine 5 channel amp.
thanks!

i'm most likely going with diamond d6 components (silk tweeter) in the front and diamond d3 coax in the rear. will be running them with an alpine MRV-F450. it's 50W x 4 plus 200W x 1.
what woofer should i get? i'm only getting one. probably go with a diamond d6 10".

from my experience, those diamonds take a LOT of power, so i dont know if the alpine amp will do it justice. Have you thought if bridging the amp and running just teh fronts and having no rear fill? This will most likely improve the sound stage.
I've had good luck with running a JL W3v2 off that same alpine amp. Just my
