Anyone with subs...

Anybody that has subs in their TSX please check this out when you get a chance. I've noticed that when you adjust the left to right balance on the HU even one click either way that all of a sudden the subs start pounding much harder. Anyone else notice this or understand why this happens?

Have not tried that. I'll have to wait til tomarrow to try it.

Is it at all volumes? High or Low? Do you think you might have wired one speaker backwards? Or the input might be backwards? There could be a phase variance?

well the wiring was messed up which is probably why adjusting my balance had my subwoofer doing weird things. not to mention the way that it was wired was robbing me of a ton of bass. i disconnected one of the rca wires going to the amp and all of a sudden my subs came to life. the bone heads that installed my subwoofers had two attempts at doing it right and failed both times. so i took it to another car stereo place and the guy there said that whoever installed my subwoofer did not attach the wires to the HU properly which is causing it not to work right with both RCAs plugged in. so when i do my next stereo mods i am going to take it to this new guy and he is going to wire it properly. my next mod is going to be tossing the factory amp for a 4 channel Alpine amp and installing some Alpine Type-S 6X9s in the rear deck. i'm going to leave the rest of the speakers stock for now.

Let me just say that if the head unit line to the amp are crossed on one side. In this rough pic the one on the left is correct the one on the right is incorrect. This would cause the signals (right and left) to cancel each other out. that is what I meant by phase variace.

I guess it turned out to be what was wrong. Glad you got the problem solved.
