Anyone see the OE amp die after a sub amp addition?

I just got a request from a friend at a mfr to help t-shoot an install where the OE amp died some time after the aftermarket sub amp was added (tagged the 6x9 wires in the usual way).

Anyone have this issue?

I've never seen anything like that Eld. My guess is that they started trying to put the push the OE amp too hard while testing the amp for the sub. Even that doesn't really even make sense to me.

The big question is how was the aftermarket sub amp wired into the system? Did they splice into the wiring between the HU and the OE amp?

No, they tapped the 6x9 speaker wires, per usual.

I was suspecting that the remote turn on was hosed up and took out the HU turn on... or wiring was wrong and somebody lied about it, happens all the time, actually.
