Anyone change out the stock battery?

I was just wondering if changing the stock battery help give more power to the system, and put less stress on the alternator ?

Someone educate me!

I changed the battery (because it died) and replaced it with the same class, I noticed no difference (but then, I wasn't looking for an improvement).

I did change the alternator (to 180 amp), and definitely noticed a difference.

The alternator only cost me $149.00, and it's worth it! When I have the heater, defroster, seat heaters, headlghts, fog lights, (2) 1400 watt amps, and the cooling fan kicks on, there's no more dimming of the lights as with the stock (85 amp alternator)!

[Sorry for running off topic]

How many times do I have to tell you or you just dont trust me Replacing your battery only helps to have you system runs longer without the engine running. Other than that, nothing.

uhhhh, can we work on our grammer(sp) or be more coherint(sp)? what the hell happened to the spell check? maybe we then could understand you and help you out. in support of dustbuster changing to a high amp alternator will help out if you are using up a lot of power, ie huge amps, using the heated seats, heater/ac, headlights, nav, and anything electronic.

I replaced my stock battery with an optima and didn't notice much of a difference. Also, I believe you can have your stock alternator rewound for higher output.

hahaha ... I changed spark plugs before ... on my Prelude but I dont see the problem in changing spark plugs on the CLS.
*block Eggplant's jab with the HELM*

Jesal,
With 120 amp rms the stock alternator offers, I doubt you even need to change it. Do your lights dim when the amp hits a deep bass note? If yes, it will help. However, I would add a capacitor in first, if the light dimming is still there, then change the alternator.

Only reason i ask, is cuz my lights dim now but only when the bass is up of course, so im gonna add a cap for now. But the thing is, im adding pulleys, thats the main reason why im asking these questions.

hahaha ... if you are adding pulleys, you can kiss your alternator good bye while you are at it. The alternator has a hard time running stock system with pulleys ... now you put more load on it. Dont be too greedy, you can only walk on one of the two paths, sound or speed.
