Soundstream make a decent amp. Depends on what kind of features and power output you are looking for? Everyone is going to have their own opinions on different brand names, are you looking for an amp to run your M610's?

Yes, it will work for these subs. I think I posted somewhere else that usually when we sell a customer those subs, we sell the Diamond D51200.1 along with them. Great combo

Soundstream looks like the old, good stuff, but for the last 7 years or so their amps have been shite. Don't waste your money.
If I was walking past their factory and it was on fire, I might not even piss on it to put it out.
However, I WOULD piss on it if it wasn't on fire.

Hey, I was a sales rep for 6 months for those f*ckers before they went out of business. Delaers I knew who were friends were pissed at me, yelling at how many times the same amp had blown up, waving 2" thick files of warranty claims... then they lied to me...
They used to be sweet, and I've always liked their looks, but that brand got run into the ground. I'd rather have Hifonics now.
In audio there are always niche brands that aren't mainstream, but sound good and work well. Soundstream USED to be one. There are others - you don't have to only buy the big names.

They are powerful, and they are good bass amps IMO. They used to all be stiffly-regulated amps, and good deals for that level of engineering (I know some are but not neccesarily all are). They are made overseas now but with the same designs, so I think they are probably still the same in that regard.
I always thought that they did not sound quite as good on the mids and highs as Zapco or others. They were always more of a bang for the buck amp, and I think they have a lot more competition now, but they did me right for years as a dealer, and I ahve no reason to slam them.
I would stay away from their Class D sub amps after reading several complaints about FM interference in TSXs...

thats cool, my neighbor has one of thes Hifonics Zeus Amps pushing his 2 Phoenix Gold 12" Subs. Although i thought Phoenix Gold were known for the amps, the subs dont sound too bad. Whats the scoop on PG though, i don't know a whole lot about them either.

PG made some very high-current-output amps, and some beefy speaks, and they made a couple of forays into lower-cost stuff that really didn't sell that well.
As lower-cost offshore suppliers started eating into PG's sales, they didn't really respond that quickly, and sales plummeted - they were still trying to make tweaky product, but not many people were buying tweaky product that cost that much (Titanium amps, Zero Point speakers). Finally the founder sold out to another executive and they quit making the really stern stuff, but are trying to keep the company going with cheaper, non-made-in-USA gear.
Not what they once were, but good deals for the price. Wish they still made the sweet EQ's, etc, and the Morel-OEM's separates.
