You want to make sure it is a good install first and foremost to ensure good sound quality.

I remember my friend installing an amp himself in his car and it was touching all kinds of wires like Antenna and A/C wires and it used to whine whenever he accelerated, so to keep things like that to a minimum make sure you have a good install free from touching any other wires if possible. Also make sure you got a good ground when they install the amp.

My favorite 4 channel amp is out of the 300 dollar price range, but it is pretty cool because it is micro-processor controlled. I ran this amp in my old car, but the end cost was so much more because I tried to skimp on my amps before and ending up swapping out two amps before the 4150. The losses I took selling the previous amps really hurt. Do your research and you should be able to find many good amps for your price range. Alpine makes a good amp - you should be able to find a good deal. Is EBAY an option?
