amp installation

Help me out guys...in my last car (97 civic) I installed all of the stereo equipment myself. Nothing was really that hard to get to, and it all in all went fairly smoothly. How is it doing an install in a 1st gen CL? Is it a bitch finding a spot in the firewall to run wires? Are the door panels a pain to get off? Are the back seats a pain to get out? Thanks.

Running wires isn't too bad in the car. You can find spots you can get through with a little bit or work, but you won't have to drill if you don't want to. Mounting stereos is very easy as its a standard DIN factory stereo. The trunk will rattle, so i would throw some dyno on back there. BTW, dont get the cheep dynamat, go for the expensive stuff with the tar backing. Works much better. Plus depending on your car it probably wouldn't hurt to dynamat the doors either. Make sure you put it behind the speaker in the doors, sounds much better with it back there.

If you want to run your power wire accross the strut bar to the drivers side firewall, there's a large hole there. You can't miss it.
