Altenator Whine - need help

I got the factory tweeters to work by tapping into the wires on the small factory plug and connecting them to the front speaker wire. My problem now is alternator whine. I was going to by a noise suppressor but I heard I can eliminate the noise by "properly" grounding the head unit. I connected the ground from my radio (black wire) to the factory ground black wire. Is there another way to connect the ground? I would like to eliminate the noise rather than suppress it.

9 times out of 10 alt whine is because of a ground loop somewhere. You should ground your new HU directly to the chassis, not thru the old HU wiring.
