Alarm Battery backup

Has anyone installed a battery backup for their alarm?

How much was it?
If you did it yourself, what was involved?

I have installed the Directed 520T with every one of my alarms since 1988. I've probably sold close to 1K of them.

It's small and reasonably light, and comes with its own isolator/draw-trigger module (triggers alarm if the main battery is cut).

It won't run a large system for long (connect options such as remote starters and such to main power but NOT BU power) but it's cheap and effective.

However, don't try to connect it to the OE alarm - it's in the CPU and you won't make that work.
