abs plastic - where to buy?
#2
Funny, I was just about to post a different but related question. I have a sheet of ABS that I got from Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) search for "textured abs sheet".
What I want to know is how would one go about painting it to match the speckeled look of the TSX ebony center console. I have a piece painted flat black, and it will kinda work I think, but if I could match that finish, it would look a lot cooler.

ah perfect, that's exactly was i was looking for.
sorry i can't help in offering info about painting it to give it the smooth speckly look.
another question though .. how do people mount these into the compartments they go into? screwed in on the side somehow? glued in?

Those sheets are textured on one side, flat on the other. If you don't want the textured side visible and need smooth edges, instead of flipping it over and using the smooth side, I fould it better to sand the "front" till smooth. It seems to take shape better, plus you'll then have a flat backing for whatever you attach it to. 400 grit snd paper wet & dry will take it to smooth.
Anyone know how to paint plastic to match the TSX center dash/console?
