3 Bluetooth Phones reviewed TSX 06 HFL
Hi all. Since I have had a chance to play around with the HFL on my 06 TSX with 3 different phones, I figured I would chime in to let everyone know about them in case they are thinking about getting that phone.
All 3 phones were with Sprint, and all tested on my 06 TSX.
Samsung A900(Blade):
This model did not really work with the HFL that well. Pairing was no problem, and making calls worked well, however I was unable to hang up the calls using the steering wheel control. I had to actually take out the phone and push END. Also, no features such as signal, battery, or roam were displayed on the MID.
Audiovox/UT Starcom PPC-6700:
Unlike as stated on the Acura HFL site, this phone does work with the HFL. Pairing the phone was no problem, however for some reason my Bluetooth on the phone itself would not stay active all the time, thereby requiring me to re-enable BT on the phone every time I wanted to use it. After that, however, making and ending calls worked with no problems. The only downfall other than the connection issue was that no information, such as signal, battery, or roam, were displayed on the MID
Samsung M620 UpStage II:
My latest little toy, and boy do I love it. Paired up fine, makes calls and hangs up great, and best of all, full transmission of all data, including Roam, Signal, and Battery to the MID. The only thing I have not tried yet is Call Waiting.
Hope this is helpful to some, I know I would have loved this info when phone shopping

great info! your post gave me the idea to start a new thread, with a list of phones and their compatibility.
not sure what would be more useful, an in depth review like you provided, or just a quick and dirty one. the thread i started is more quick and dirty. it looks like this:
TSX, Nokia N80, Cingular, able to place calls, able to receive calls, able to hang up, no signal strength, no battery life, no roam indicator
anyway, great info! thanks!

Something to add to mine.
On both the PPC-6700 and now the UpStage II, one thing I have noticed is that if I have BT enabled on the phone, and dial from the phone, not wanting the call to be on HFL, it will randomly automatically transfer it while I'm in the middle of talking. Not necessary a bad thing, just one of those little annoying quirks...
