Has anyone done a swap of a CL radio into a TL? There's 3 harness sockets in the back of the 99-1 TLs single disc player, but only 2 on the 01-03 CLs. I heard something about the amps being different as well, anyone successful on getting this to work?

One forum somebody mentioned they did but didn't post if they needed to re-wire or or how or anything.

As far as I know. The HU are interchangeable. The extra plug you have on 99s are for the CD changer. Since 2000 they have in-dash changer so there is no need for the 3rd plug. If you look closely the main plug on it is the same for 99. Someone posted here with a 99 TL swapped with a 2000+ HU. Works fine

The smaller harness on the left from the TL does not fit the CL's radio, it won't plug in. I believe this is from the CL's having an external 6-channel amp compared to the TL's built in 4-channel amp and one external amp to power the sub. Notice on 3.2CL's and CL-S's there are tweeters on the doors.

I want to get a set of tweeters and somehow figure out how to wire this head unit up right, but I doubt it'll work.

I just bought a new HU that came out of a 2003 and it comes with the built in changer. I have a 2000 TL - any idea if the CD tray will fit my newer unit or will I need a newer one?

the CL radio doesnt work in the tl. all the tl's radios work in the 99+ tl's though. and teh tray should work (from what i read in other posts)
