2nd Gen 03 TL w/out Navi Blitzsafe/AUX Input?
I have a stock in dash 6 CD player BOSE radio in my 03 Acura TL.....Iv'e seen billions of threads about blitzsafe adapter and that it plugs in back of the radio in a empty 14pin AUX spot next to the CD changer harness.......Do all Acura TL's have the empty spot in the back for me to install my Blitzsafe??? I just ordered blitzsafe and It will be here tomorrow any feedback will be greatly appreciated......Also, I heard by pressing CD twice will give you AUX option from stock head unit.....DOes this only appear after something is plugged in??? I tried pressing it twice and nothing...............??????????????????????

First I would like to thank Jonesi for answering my questions.....
Second Blitzsafe is F_ing awesome.....shipped overnight exactly what I needed say goodbye to shitty sound quality the adapter is superb! As Jonesi said no problems just pure crisp & clean sound to my ears.....My BOSE radio loves it as well....at first Bose didn't want Blitzsafe to ram its plug in her AUX hole but now you can hear her screaming & playing non stop music.
Just beautiful.

How come they tell you on that page under "Compatability Information" that it won't work with a factory in-dash 6 CD changer?
Why would they say that?

Scottman111 No worries....I called Blitzsafe directly and even purchased from Blitzsafe. I spoke to their customer service and they answered all my questions....Logjams information sucks and so does cruthfield/Tech help....I spoke to CF asked the same questions and got Bull Shit answers....." Acura only made the AUX input on the back of the radio on some years not all years". WTF! that's when I called Blitzsafe.......For all 2nd Gen. TL's use Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.1.

Just a FYI, I heard from StreetEffectz that they now offer a dual input Blitzsafe adapter for the CL.. So if you're going to buy one I would try and find the dual input..

Jonesi thanks for the recommendation. Any reason I should go with the dual input? Benefits/etc over the HON/AUX DMX V.1?

What do you need to totally do the install on a CL-S non-navi?
1. blitzsafe adapter
2. ?
3. ?
I am under the impression that I also need the sik imp for charging (not going to use the cigarette adapter)
Plus I need the headphone splitter for the audio
Is this correct?

My '03 TLS-NAV also has OnStar . . . does anyone know if that 14-pin connector is still available, or if the HON/AUX DMX V.1 will work?
Also, I've heard that you can get to the connector from the side without pulling the Head Unit . . . is this so?
Thanks!

I also have an '03 with Navi AND Onstar. I have yet to get an answer on this. Does the Onstar occupy the infamous open plug on the back of the HU? It communicates through the speakers and mutes the radio, so I'm assuming it does.
Anyone???
Anyone???

I know that OnStar mutes all of the speakers, whereas the Navi only mutes the front speakers, so my Blackberry cellphone car kit only mutes the front as well! :-(
I wish I could get a definitive answer (and/or accurate wiring diagram) before buying the hardware and ripping the dashboard apart!
Christian at BlitzSafe told me I need the HON/AUX DMX V.2 interface, which has two head unit connectors on it. . .
I'm going to CES tomorrow, I hope I'l find better information, and an iPod interface that includes a cradle with a docking connector- the whole point of having the iPod is being able to see it (especially the new video iPod- it looks great!).
Anyone have any experience with this particular vehicle???
Thanks!

Well I couldn't get a definite answer at CES! Several people told me there was NO WAY that Acura had OnStar - LOL - a few had no idea . . .
I did find out from my Acura dealer that the iPod adapter they have has a 16-pin connector and won't fit in the radio, which has a 14-pin connector on the back . . .
So I'm still looking for an answer, although I might check out the BlitzSafe unit (they weren't at the show) and see if it works, if I can find someone to pull the radio out far enough to plug it in!
Anyone know the difference between the V.1 and V.2 BlitzSafe units? I'm seeing recommendations for both . . .

I had a dude at Tweeter say there is no way an Acura had OnStar also. I walked him out to my car and showed him the rear view mirror and the antenna. He looked pretty stupid.
Anyway, I guess I can take the pass side console moulding and panel off and try to reach back there and see if theres an open port.

HON AUX DMX V.1 worked in my TL-S w/navi and OnStar
I just finished the install of an MP3 player (Omnifi) and satellite radio (Sirius One).
I have a 2003 TL-S w/nav and OnStar. The radio has the in-dash 6-CD changer.
It has an unused (until now) 14-pin connector on the back.
I purchased the Blitzsafe HON AUX DMX V.1 adapter and it works as advertised.
