2011 tsx Navi screen blank

I have a 2011 TSX tech pkg. My Navi screen is backlit, however nothing comes up when you start the car. I’m not sure what the problem could be although I’ve read about the Navi module. Is there a navigation module in the trunk of a 2011 TSX ? If so.. EXACTLY where is it located ? Or is it in the first generations only ?? Any help would be appreciated !!

I'm jumping on your post. I see you've had no replies, so maybe by replying one of us can get some answers. I have a 2010 TL tech. I assume it's similar to yours. For a few years now the screen is intermittently dark with the words, "application error, unable to start system" and a little number "6" in the corner. I thought it was just a nav problem, but my son who drives it now, says it also does not display the rear camera when it does this. It does NOT work more often than it does. Don't know if it's electrical problem or software. Don't want to spend a lot to fix. Most similar problems seen to be with the DVD portion of the Nav in older systems, but this one is HDD and I think it's in the dash. WHen it was at dealer for new airbag the problem wasn't there so they had no advice. I see slavage yards selling the radio/dvd/hard drive, but wonder if that would fix it....would a faulty radio/dvd/hard drive cause the whole screen to be black even the reverse camera? COULD it be a simple software update? My theory on the software is why would it happen after 4 years? It's not like somebody changed what was working...

Anybody have any suggestions, beside bring it to the dealer and pay $$ for them to say they have no idea....Considering local car audio place, but that won't help unless the unit is the fault. Also unsure what part exactly to order from salvage yard.

The nav unit is built in to the dvd player, under the climate controls. This changed in 2011. If you think that is the problem, you can buy one off of ebay with the unlock code (it will be different from the code you have now).
