2007 TSX: Replace OEM subwoofer or add enclosure with 12' subs?

I am new when it comes to car audio so please excuse anything that I might say wrong. From my understanding, the speakers in the rear of the TSX is actually a subwoofer. I don't know their size but should I replace them with after market subs or should I do it traditionally with an enclosure? I really like my trunk space and I'm not that picky when it comes to sound. I just really like a harder thump on the bass since I had traditional subwoofers in my integra. Any suggestions?

the "subs" in the rear deck are 6x9". You can replace them with some one-way 6x9 sub-like speakers. CDT (very good brand) makes some that you can use. A better idea if you are wanting to keep your trunk space is to get a spacer to convert the 6x9 opening to house a 6.5" speaker. There are quite a few 6-7" mini subs (JL, Elemental Design, etc) that you can put in there that will give you better lows than stock (if externally amplified).

**NOTE** you can get better mid's and lows by replacing the speakers in the rear panel, but it will NOT be as low or hit as hard as a sub in a box...but you will be able to keep your trunk.

If you decide to replace the stock "subs" be sure to sound deaden the rear deck and use an actual amplifier and not the stock one. Elemental Designs has some great sound deadening material
