I've seem conflicting data on whether the 2003 TL head unit / 6 CD changer is made by Pioneer or Alpine. I thought pretty much all Honda and Acura HUs were made by Apline.

It matters because I needed to know which Blitzsafe adapter to get for connection to an XM radio.

Actually, you don't need to know the brand of HU - it's the brand of XM radio that counts.

You would go with a HON/XM DMX PIO V.1 for the Pioneer XM tuner (GEX-FM903XM) and HON/XM DMX ALP V.1 for the Alpine. There is apparently an adapter for the Delphi SkyFi as well.

In any case, TopGum is right - the HU is made by Pioneer. (The nav system is made by Alpine, for those who care.)

I know for a fact all Hondas are Pioneer. My friend works there and his job is to kiss Honda's butt and keep them happy.

 

I have a Pioneer Premier HU. I had the stock unit on the bench.
