2 Quick Questions...please help!

Ok, so I lied, I thought of a third while I was typing . Here they are:

1. On-Star and aftermarket stereo; Is there any way to keep On-Star working after installing an aftermarket head unit. I'm asking this for my Mom's '02 Escalade (I know some CL's have On-Star). I was just wondering if this is at all possible?

2. Factory CL Stereo; It is double-din, correct?

Finally,
3. Visor-mounted tv monitors; This is also for the Escalade. The shops around here won't tell me what monitors will work. Do you guys know of a great one that I could use? I think it needs one up front in the passenger visor. Any suggestions? Also, is this a hard install?

All info from the Mobile A/V masters is appreciated!!

Thanks,
Oscar

Hey Hoover eh? I'm in Vestavia right now .

1). Is the HU running the speakers? If so your problem will be getting the On-Star signal into your signal path and constantly on. If your HU is running your speakers, even if you have an aux input...then the only way to hear it is by switching the HU to aux. If you're running aftermarket amps you can splice the signal so you're always feeding OnStar and whatever is coming out of your HU.

2). Correct.

3). There are a lot of models that can be modified to fit in visors. Obviously the screens made for visor mount...there are some by Clarion and NESA. Others can be modified for this...Farenheit, Sony, Accele...Ron has done this and I have not so I would suggest you email him (ron@streeteffectz.com) and ask.

No problem...and actually my family moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta...I went to school here. I'm just off at college now...hence it says Austin, TX. We should have a meet sometime late July after I put my headers, rims, tires, NOS, and stereo in .

Cool...

Also, a meet would be great, I'd like to see all those mods you have done already, maybe we could get some of the other owners in the area to come as well...I know momentum3.2 is on this board and he works in hoover as well.

keep me posted if you decide to come back. I've got an '03 CLP and I haven't done anything with it yet, your mods might give me some ideas.

I'm out,
Oscar

Go check my site out...it has DIY's on everything...I'll be out of town this coming week but back this weekend...then out but back late July and all of August...I'll be happy to help you out with anything bro. Definitely get an intake...new bulbs (my Solaris 9005 rock), brake lines, sway bars, upper strut tie bar, and springs. Those are all sub $250 mods with the sways being $250...but it's SO worth it.
