06 TSX - How to enter radio code

I had a new battery installed in my daughters 06 TSX today. It of course asked me to enter the navi and radio codes. Navi code worked no problem but I was having a heck of time trying to figure out how to enter the radio code. The manual says to use the preset "icons" for cars with navi. News flash, if the screen is black and won't come up, then you can't press the icons. :annoyed:

Finally I found this post, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...5&page=2&pp=25, and post #26 says to "punch" in the code with the right radio knob. So, I turned the knob and I got the numbers to appear in the upper dash display but pushing the dial does not register the numbers. This is all I could think he/she meant by "punch" in the numbers. Unfortunately, I could not locate any other posts.

Does anyone know how I "enter" the numbers as they appear in the display?

Thank you!

press down on the knob when you';ve selected the number

[from what it looks like you figured out how to select the numbers]

That's what seemed logical to me since the knob does push in but it did not register the numbers. I just had my husband, who by the way is very auto savvy, 25 yrs experienced body man, try the same thing and it didn't work for him either. We even disconnected the battery again but once again, the navi code goes no problem, but not the radio code.

I probably wouldn't care that much but getting to the dealership will be a real hassle this week. We are all going different directions this week and she lives about 45 minutes south of us. Besides regular radio listening, she actually uses her ipod with her radio for school notes, ect not to mention that none of the voice activated items will work either until the radio is unlocked.

Any other suggestions? Maybe?

don't know why it's not working :\. i've never had this problem with my car

only other thing i can think of is...
hold on to
Map, menu, and cancel [or might've been the but. next to that] for 5 seconds. that should bring you into the bios of the unit. I believe there's an option in there that allows you to reset/check radio

ehhh, bios. I'm a Mac. Oh well, headed to the garage, back with more detail.

Thanks!

Ok well, I have to admit there are some very handy tidbits of information be had in that area but I didn't see anywhere to reset the radio. There was radio section but the light was green and indicated everything was okay. Anyways, I guess I'll just have to make some sort of arrangements to get to the dealer tomorrow.

FYI, I thought it was cool you could see the satellite coordinates.

Honestly, thank you for the help! I'll post back tomorrow with what they do tomorrow in case anyone else has this problem.
