04 TL hands free telephone unit
While getting educated on the fact that the 04 HFL is like $800 compared to 05 and up being around $200. I came across a question.. I put in my vin and got a part # of 04397-sep-305za for the 04 tl HFL module from acura. My search took me from Acurapartswarehouse.com to a part name of HFT *NH528L* When I put that in google search, it took me to dealerdirectparts.com where it referenced a part number of 39770-S3V-A61ZA I found out this is the module part NO. for 04 to 06 MDX.. it looks like the same module as the TL 04..Is there anyway these two modules could be interchangeable??? or would it only make too much sense to use the same unit different part number for 04 TL and 04 MDX.. because I would pay $200-$250 for the unit, but not $800.. anybody heard of these units being the same????

Difference between 2004 Nav and non-Nav bluetooth modules

My deductive reasoning is the difference between the two part numbers is the '04 replacement includes the delay box and the non-nav bluetooth module. When mine was replaced by the dealer in 2006 they must have installed the delay box which is why I have the non-nav BT module part number 39770-SEP-305ZA.
I ordered the replacement module (about $175) this afternoon before pulling the part out and I now have a message the site I ordered from to confirm it is the correct part to replace 39770-SEP-305ZA.
If you aren't 100% sure the part has not been previously replaced I would recommend pulling it out and checking the part number. It only takes about 15 minutes and can save you about $600.
I am by no means an expert, just another schlub that want his HFL back.
