03 TL New doubleDIN Nav but keep OEM nav h/u?
Greetings fellow Acurites! I am DETERMINED to install a new
Kenwood Excelon DNX891HD Double Din Nav head unit in my 03 TL-S Navi. However, I do not want to lose ANY HVAC functionality at all! Can I just keep the OEM nav system intact for that and put the new Kenwood in place of the OEM stereo? The OEM Nav h/u still works fine, but the gyro/accelerometer unit in the trunk is hopelessly unreliable despite extensive troubleshooting (Thank you NAV ZEN master Paul Mooney for your patience with me...). Alpine wants over $380.00 for a replacement trunk unit and I REALLY want HD radio anyway. I did read all of the stickies, and searched these forums extensively. Thank you for any and all guidance
