00 TL audio upgrade need help!!
I have read a ton of stuff on here but am very confused by it and with this slow dial up connection searching further just takes forever. So, I hope someone can help me out.
I have a 2000 TL with the factory head unit and alpine CHAS-630 changer on it. i don't plan to replace the head unit at all. I going to replace all for door sprakers with aftermarket ones. I also want to add a 4 channel Alpine amp to drive the front and rear door speakers. I want to keep the factory sub as is though so I still have some low end.
Here is where i get confused. In most posts i have read something about bypassing an EQ and it being a problem. I don't think i have one, is it just on the 02 and higher models, do I need to be concerned with this?
Next question: What needs to be done to bypass the amp that runs the 4 door speakers now so i can use the Alpine amp. And what is the best way to get signal to the new Alpine amp from the head unit.
Does anything need to be done to the sub if I bypass the amp that runs the fronts in order to keep it as part of the system after I do the rest of the stuff.
Last one: What impedence are the factory sprakers? Will the factory Bose amp run aftermarket speakers if i just install new speakers and do the amp install later on?
I really appreciate the help

Hey there buddy see your fairly new here. OK last summer I just wanted to do the same as u and I did do it but it souned like ****. I got alot of feedback noise and no mids. But I just used LOCs and didnt bypass the bose EQ. IF u do a search on the Bose Bypass it will help u out more than I can.
The factory speakers are 4 ohm. And yes the bose amp can run after market speakers but it will only send out about 12 to 15 watts per speaker.
In the end I got a aftermarket HU and its just sounds awesome.
