Things to do in Arizona
 

I'll be in Arizona next month and have a few days open. Is there anything fun to do there? I also have a day or two open when I'm in San Diego. I've been there before, but can't think of anything to do that will pass the time. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance :D

I think we'll be staying in Scottsdale, but I'm not too clear on that yet. Probably in or near there though.

Hmmm...

The usual stuff people do is:

Climb camelback. You walk a trail up and down a big rock. Considering it will be 115 or hotter, and the pollution kills the view, might not be a great idea in August.

Tube down salt river. You rent tubes (one for you, one for a case of beer) and float down a slow moving, straight, river. Not only do you get up close and personal with the beautiful dirt on the sides of the river, but you can experience first hand what its like to be industrial waste (emptied down said river).

Drink.

From what I've heard, not much to do out there, the bar scene/clubs are kind of wack. Best bet, drink with your friends.

play golf at 6am before it gets too hot out :dunno:

Actually I'd say the bar scene is one of the best in the country. Clubs aren't bad either, if you are into that stuff.

Take a ride up to the Sedona area if you want some pretty scenery. Generally speaking, North of Phoenix is nice scenery. Near-North of Tucson and further South is nice Scenery. Between Phoenix and Tucson is boring as f*ck. :2cents:

When you're in San Diego, hit up this Mexican place called JV's. It's a taco shop.

$6 for the surf and turf burrito. (Carne Asada + Shrimp)... the length goes literally from your wrist to the beginning of your elbow. And I would say 3.5-4 inches thick across.

hey I'm going to San Diego monday-tuesday next week. I'm staying in a hotel in Hazard Center (no clue where that is).

Where do I find this place JV's..any idea if its close to where I am?

Don't forget to get some carne asada fries too while in daygo. I recommend Lolita's, you can yahoo that place to get directions.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!~ A friend of mine who used to live in az was telling me that I had to try Phillyburtos, or some shit. Probably not the right spelling at all, but is there a taco place that has a name that sounds even remotely like that? I'll also check out that JV's place :thumbsup:

thats the taco chain that makes McDonalds look like cheesecake factory. they get closed down almost weekly for failing health code inspections...rats in the meat and all sorts of nasty shit.

they have deals like 7 tacos for a dollar. its absolutely disgusting.


and you would like scottsdale fashion square mall, or the biltmore. fashion square is in downtown scottsdale, scottsdale road and camelback (1/8th mile from my office). Biltmore is 24th street and camelback.

san diegos only a hop skip and a jump away from TJ mexico and some drunken escapades or of course theres sea world

damn, shes been talking about that place ever since she moved back. I guess I know to stay away from that death trap now :ugh: I do NOT want to have food poisoning on vacation :whyme:

there is a nice little gyro shop near the barber shop i go to on central. About as good as leftiri's in sleepy hollow/tarrytown NY. I havent gotten sick from that place yet! :thumbsup:

Yeah I'd avoid that place like the plague. I thought only the illegal immigrants ate there.

Gyro shop. Its like 100 feet from Uncle Jedd's cut hut on central. Good gyros man, really good!!!

too hot now in phoenix....gotta stay in the shade during the day. malls are nice here if you wanna shop. the ones that beet mentioned are nice.

if you had the time, sedona is a nice getaway....about an hour and a half or two hours and it's cooler up there.

I never once said that there was no hope though. I don't want a long distance, but didn't we talk about Stetson? How could I have had intentions when we never met. However, I was willing to see where shit went when we did meet, I thought that was clear. You're just taking a bunch of shit out of context. Bottom line: I never said there was no chance, not to you, not to anyone. I don't think no intention necessarily = no chance. Its like, I don't have intentions of dating anyone now, but doesn't mean that if something comes along later I'd totally turn it away. There is a difference.
