haha thats what i call you guys too. a friend that i grew up with is a fairfax county cop (havent seen him since last summer) and i would have never thought hed end up being a cop, but anyway i always joked around with him calling out " hey popo, 5-0, piggy, bacon" or asked if he wanted any donuts etc. everything you probably hear all the time, in front of people to see their reaction. hes pretty level headed and was always a huge goofball growing up. its good to see some po's who arent complete dicks and dont take themselves way too serious REALLY ARE out there.

In the MD/VA area, the cops do this as a decoy. The car that's pulled over is either a fake, or the one actually running radar. In Baltimore City, I saw this with a f-in dump truck. Lucky I wasn't speeding

here's two i've heard related to the lapd and the rodney king incident (not intended to offend):

the infamous rodney king beating video = new lapd baton training video

did you hear about the new lapd edition of playing cards? it has 52 clubs and a spade

not at all, hell there is no reason to slow down if im on the same side of the road, unless you're going like 100+ im not going to be able to tell you're going 80 in a 65 exactly... and im not concerned with you, i've got someone else...

blow by at 100 or so and you'll get chased down...

lots, usually their dopers or alcoholics or something with a good record, and they know full well this ticket is going to royally fuck them

but I have no mercy for these people, they have already screwed up their lives and now have an opportunity to correct their mistakes... they just didn't take it...

edit: these are usually more than just minor traffic tickets im talking about, these are like suspended license / reckless / dui incidents...

that reminds me. not sure if you said you don't have laser in cali. if not, ignore

anyway - doesn't laser have to hit a vertical surface to get a reading? i got a speeding ticket and the cop said he hit my front plate. when i brought up to him, and in court, that i had no front plate to hit, he just said "well i hit you."

to this day, i swear that he nailed the truck that was passing me. big green pickup (local) in a small town in MD. and me in my shiny CLS (on the way to a funeral no less)

most of them are lame... one involves something like

<cop> why is your truck stinking up my highway?
<man> because i have 200 lbs of cow manure in the back
<cop> what the hell do you do with 200 lbs of shit?
<man> you give him a badge and a gun it appears...

or something like that...

those are pretty good

What does cocaine taste like? I see cops on tv tasting it and always thought it taste like baking soda...just because it looks like it.

Do cops have clicks? Like is there the nice cops and the renegade cops and the hard headed cops and the blah blah blah...?

How realistic did you find the movie Crash?

i don't know, i've never tasted any drugs really... doing so is fucking stupid, and for effect... we test all drugs with chemicals, not our tongues...

yeah we have cliques, and they're usually comprised of likeminded folks, although our brotherhood is pretty strong and we dont shun other groups...

never saw it, sorry

I actually know the answer to this...

It doesn't really taste like anything (kinda bitter?)... but you can tell it's coke because it instantly numbs your tongue; think novacaine.

a serious question.

I know the tint laws in cali say that we cant have the fronts tinted AT ALL

how often do you pull over someone just because you see that the fronts are tinted? is that even enough of a reason to do so? Also can you really tell the diff if a window is tinted or not? some are kinda hard to tell I think.

(im trying to see if i want to get my windshiled tinted 50% or not)

that makes sense you

there was a movie where they invited recruits to taste cocaine, then told them it was ground up birdshit or something like that... supposedly there was an instructor IRL who did the same, but with like baking soda or something with that nasty bitrex shit... but its sort of a legend-ish thing so

tasting it for law enforcement testing is all hollywood baby

i never do... mine are tinted (not as much as some but enough to be illegal) and my personal policy is to try not ticket for something i do, and like... Unless the person is a total asshole and just starts signing his own tickets with his mouth...

i dont usually ticket for modified exhausts, tint, front license plate, etc... i like them and have most (no tl exhaust yet ) so its pretty weak... and when im busting dopers and domestic mike tysons i have better things to do...

i will usually ticket tint on a car when the person is a doper, a felon, or something else above regular citizen... these people are dangerous and should not be hidden by tint. i want to live and go to more meets

police cars are tinted specifically to the california legal limit, at least ours are. this is so we can compare them, on scene, to the subject vehicle. if it seems darker, we can ticket it.

it's more than enough probable cause for a pull over by itself, and it's pretty easy to tell whats illegal once you get into darker tints.

I'm sure you have to work a crap load of OT to get there, or unless you have rank (i.e. corporal, lead officer). How long have you been a peace officer and do you have rank?

With tint laws I never understood something. Why is it legal for SUV's to have blacked out tint in the back but not cars? I would think an SUV could potentially carry more people in the back with guns pointed right at you then a car would.

nah, a little spirited driving never hurt anyone, its a crime not to let our cars breathe a little

especially ronnies tt beast

besides, twistys are usually boonie roads, not like we're speeding through a playground

the "work car" i was referring to when i said i have driven along that road before was a crown victoria and i was f'in flying, sirens and all, going the opposite way for a cover call..

no, thats base

some study says schentady (sp??) ny cops make more but it's not true. cali cops make the most in the country on average, but our cost of living sucks ass

some departments here make like 106k/year BASE SALARY! on top step patrolman

about 2 years now, and i am bottom rank regular officer, not a sgt or anything (yet)
