I think TV sub should be here too since TV's nowadays so many tech things. Plus when setting up HT you have to consider WIFI, DVR's, etc.

thats the only problem i see with this subforum.

technology is so general.

you can put in our video game thread, the cell phone one. the home theater section.

shoot even in some cases cooking and dining and home and garden

or just make the video game a sub forum of this one and call this one science and technology for us nonbelievers. Even though I seem to be doing pretty well in R&P right now....

We are discussing the tech forum vs. gaming forum internally.

However, for the time being, let's treat any technology topics/discussions that are non-gaming related to be kosher for this sub-forum. Therefore, smartphones, computers, tablets, and related can go in here...

Consoles, games, computers/video cards/etc. for the purpose of gaming...punt those into the gaming sub-forum.

This is a work in-progress...and let's figure it out. Obviously, keep up with your input and suggestions...

i honestly wouldnt put the gaming forum in here since people wouldnt just be talking about the hardware, but the software. like ex what they did to beat a game a certain way etc

or the talk about GT5

I think the only issue that'll come up with console discussions on where they go is if you're talking something like "holy crap PS3 got HBO Go". But then it will likely be merged to the PS3 thread which by default of previous history is in the gaming forum. So I guess any new non-gaming software updates for the consoles will be in that console's respective thread thus remaining in the gaming forum. Software titles get their own thread in the gaming forum and that's that. So yeah might as well keep gaming separate unless both are positively dead. Which leads me to the TV thread speaking of dead.

First of all I forget it about half the time of it's existence. There are 2 replies in October (today's the 13th) and 2 replies in August. A whopping 6 in September and 6 in May. I don't think the Tech forum will be inundated with the TV stuff added IMO. Many TV's are being released with WIFI and 3D techonology. So guess what, you gotta talk routers, you gotta talk DVR's and providers with 3D, glasses, 3D BD players that also have WIFI. I don't think the TV section will get enough replies to make it worthwhile being in a section all by itself.

That's this senior mod to the Accord forum that shall not be named's opinion

There is a lot of good discussion going on here, for that reason, I'm going to merge this thread with the thread in the Help Forum to keep all our thoughts in one central place.

Just wanted to give an update.

Since it's inception, I've been moving a lot of threads over to the tech forum, focusing more on the more recent stuff. However today I moved a bunch of threads over and have completed going through the first 60 pages of ramblings to catch any recent strays.

I've still got more to move and will do it periodically. Even though it was a forum merge, the number of threads for this sub-forum is quite impressive compared to some of the other child forums and will continue to grow as I move stuff over.

Thanks for the work Anil and the update.

As well, I've also have been moving computer-builds/problem threads from the gaming sub-forum into the Tech forum...

We'll keep gaming related stuff for the gaming sub-forum for the time-being. So, as mentioned, PS3/360/Wii/etc. stuff can continue to go and stay in there...
