Disable PM options for n00bs altogether
Over the course of my time here I've received a fair number of PMs from people well under the limit to receive a PM in return. More often then not, I earnestly wish to be able to help out these members, but alas, I cannot respond!
I've even gone so far as to type out a full, long-ass answer only to realize, "Dumbass, they have 0 posts."![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
I would recommend banning this feature until the limit is reached for the following reasons:
(1) I don't see any purpose in enabling PMs if they cannot receive one.
(2) It can make the recipient look like an arrogant dick who blows people off even though the opposite may be true
(3) Save me and other members from typing out a long ass response only to realize it can't be sent (even though it's our own reckoning)
Just a thought.

Noobs were allowed to have one (1) PM in their PM's folder, either in the Inbox or Sent folders.
At this point I thought about asking astro to allow them 2 PM's, so they could receive a reply or post one if needed, and he agreed and increased it to two PM's.
Most of the noobs aren't computer savvy enough to figure this out, so they get their one or two PM's or reply to one and then they are stuck. A very few have figured it out and it satisfied their need to use the PM system on a limited basis.
Most of the regular members are aware by now that they should look at the post count and/or user title to see if there's a chance their PM won't go through, and adjust the length of their message accordingly. If you posted "it happened to me again" several times, you might be the exception to this rule.

Myself and a few members are probably the outliers in the matter (few members meaning the others whom post DIYs), but at least this gives us the opportunity to help the new guys out.
Thanks again.
