Yes, I bought a 350Z
OK, inquiring minds, I traded the CLS in for a 350Z on Saturday.
I had been thinking about doing this for a couple months. No one knew I was thinking about doing this except Glenn. The time was right this weekend, I got a deal for a few hundred under MSRP, and decent trade-in value for the CLS.
I'm guess my purchase comes as a surprise to many, given how much I enjoyed the CLS even up to the last drive onto the Nissan dealer lot, and the fact that I never mentioned my plans to anyone but Glenn. But I like to make these kinds of decisions without the public scrutiny one goes through when pondering the decision publicly in an online forum.
That being said, I still own this thread, and plan to continue to have meets with all my CL brothers and hopefully some NorCal 350z owners as well.

You know, I had a feeling you were gonna get something new after the chat we had at the diner. I could tell that you were looking for something that would start off with the performance that the CL had with the mods. After you were talking about the RX-8, I figured if you didn't like it, the 350Z would be the car.
You need a partner now... Should I stock mine out???? LOL!!

I'm going to wait for the new 05 Mustang myself. Might even wait a few months after its debut to see how many problems it has, LOL.

Z's can now be purchased for under MSRP, especially if you stalk all the area dealers and look at their inventory on www.nissanusa.com. The one I bought had been sitting on the dealer lot since the beginning of the month, and at the end of the month they are more motivated to move it.
And once they know you're an internet buyer that has done their price research, is aware of what inventory they have on the lot, and willing to go to any of the other area dealers, they drop all the BS $$$$ "dealer premium" they would otherwise try to stick on top of MSRP.
One of the dealers I spoke with in Shingle Springs (up near the twisties!) said they are just starting to get a larger allocation of 350Zs than what they were getting before. Also, I believe the 350Z roadster is supposed to be released in June, so I would imagine that the 350Z coupe demand may be a little soft around then.

Yup, 4:30 tomorrow!!! Go to www.bui4ever.com It has all the information you need there.
Twisty vid thread got deleted. If you want the clip, go to the Sacramento Meets thread. It's still there.

I would really love to go tonight, if only to watch, but I can't due to a personal matter.
Rest assured that once my Z has passed its break-in period (only 2-3 weeks with the mileage I put on!) and I will see you guys the next time out.
Have a great time and tell Spielberg to take lots of video.

Congrats on the Z!!
I went through a similar situation when I got my Z. I was debating getting a more "performance oriented" car. I decided to shop around a little and after going to 5 Nissan dealers, I was able to get a deal on a Z for almost $500 under MSRP, as well as a decent trade-in value for my CL. I couldn't pass the offer up.
I've had the Z now over 2 months now and I still love it as much as day 1.
Good luck with the Z!
