Tri-State Area Tech day

I know we had a meet recently, but this is different.

Many other sites do tech days, where the help out someone who is doing a big job, or to learn how to do other mods. I was thinking we should do something similar.

I'm willing to host it at my house, since I have two garages, tons of tools, and some drieveway space.

I was wondering, what you guys would be interested in learning how to do. Simple stuff like a spacer kit or even how to do a brake job, etc.

Lets try and focus on a topic for the day (although we can do other stuff as well), and try and set a date.

Intake is easy enough.

Headers, ehh, not sure a lot of you could do without the tools I have, unless you have access to similar tools.

No one else has any ideas or comments?

All you mofos know how to do everything to your car???

I'm game. I'm not going to have time to install my spacers until after the 4th, so I can just wait and do it then.

Brakes will be good to learn.

So we got:
Intake
Detailing (mainly PC)
Brakes
Spacers?
Headers

Keep the ideas coming.

We can also do a BBQ if we like. I got some stuff left-over from the last one.

lolz

One thing at a time. If people are actually interested in this, we a can have them every so often so we can cover a fet topics.

But I expected there to be more interest in this sort of thing since everyone is always complaining aobut spending money on stuff, doing it yourself is a good way to save.

A PC how-to would be great. I'd be happy to teach you all the techniques I've learned (been detailing cars off and on for 10+ years).

Everyone would have to bring their own PC as I don't have enough pads to share with the entire class.

I just recently purchased Zaino's new Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover and I'm anxious to see what it can do. I don't have much paint damage but I do have some minor microhazing.

I'm pretty booked up in July with vacation and house projects. Maybe the beginning of August?

Not yet. I was trying to see what day would be good for people.

I think we will have two things going. Detailing with the PC and installing an intake. We may be able to do one after the other so everyone can watch each, not positive, but those two seem to have the most interest.

Lets just set a date now and make this happen.

well, intake installs are all mostly the same. its not too hard at all and doesnt take too long. even if we focus on one, as long as you get the basics its pretty simple.

i think any saturday or sunday would be best.

I've had the AEM and I replaced it with the Comptech Icebox. I like the Icebox a lot more. The AEM is louder and sounds great when the VTEC kicks in. The icebox adds a litte noise, but looks more stock.

Also, the Icebox allows you to get to the filter to clean or change it. And it's safer when it comes to driving through some standing water if there is any flooding since the filter is up higher. If you go with the AEM, maybe you should consider getting the bypass valve for it.

There have also been some issues with the AEM rusting, or the support snapping. This happened to mine. The Injen is a better alternative to the AEM.

They are both about the same cost, and will take about the same time to install.

thanks man, i guess i'll be looking into the icebox by comptech, how much does it go for? sucks that i just brought the K&N drop filter into the stock box, but oh well, maybe i'll sell it lol.
