The "Other" All-Cali Meet: July 18th, 2009
Hey all,
In light of the hostilities, piss-poor attitudes, and overall attitude exuding from the planning of the All-Cali Meet, I'd like to gauge interest in proceeding with the original plan: that is, a drive to Pismo/SLO for a trip to the coast. We could also throw in some Firestones. SLO has a great collection of restaurants as well. C'mon, who doesn't like a drive out to the coast?
Any SoCalers are welcome to join, and are promised a chill vibe, camaderie, and good times!
Any feedback and ideas would be appreciated.

Another idea...
The main point of disagreement is that one group is o.k. inviting a larger group of acura enthusiast, the other group wants it to be a acurazine member only meet.
Let's do both...Fresno can be all Acura enthusiast and pismo/slo can be acurazine only. That way, everyone wins and can have a good time. I don't see this as an either or situation...
What I think will happen with Fresno is we will get a lot of new Acurazine members. People will learn about the meet, come to the website to find out more, and then sign up as a member to sign up for the meet. We can never guarantee perfection, but there are enough solid people participating to keep things in check.
Long story shot - let's go for win - win. Let's put the weapons down and start gearing up for an awesome spring and summer meet season

I'm with you, Eric. A drive to the SLO area, have a good bbq, chill, relax, good company. Maybe stay the night and go out for some good times.
A lot of people who aren't going to fresno have an opportunity to come to SLO for a good time.
for the people commenting about it being on the same date, please leave this thread alone and allow it to be for this meet. Not everybody is going to fresno, so this meet gives them something else to be interested in. Even if it's a small group of people, at least we will have a good time with good company, which is what we want.
so Please leave the other threads discussion BS out of this thread.
Thanks for cooperating and understanding.

If you just want a small group to chill, then why call it the ALL CALI MEET?
I suggested a win-win above, do you have a win-win proposal?

you know what this is so effin stupid i swear you guys are so effin disrespectful. Mike the vendor and treo designs are working hella hard on this Fresno thing and you guys are just fuckin it up.
Plus wtf i thought this was the 3rd ANNUAL all cali meet last time i check annual meant once a year. Making people choose on which one to go to is is a bunch of bs not good the azine community I thought this was a meet for all of california people to come check out some cars and talk to some cool people. I met racerM3 the one that started the thread at a meet in milpitas and he is a cool guy but come on how you going to make people choose between a meet to go to.
Im with chicoOG,Noah,c2gproject,and vimal this is hella sad.

bye Acura, hello Toyota
Maybe you should've put red letters on "other" Eric..LOL Ok, as I see it, there's the Fresno meet & there's this meet that being organized/discussed/looked into/whateva...
maybe a different date as someone already suggested would be in order, just so as to give leeway for the Fresno group who're planning that meet. I myself see me going to maybe BOTH of these gatherings just because of all the folks that I've met through the years here on Azine...but also would like to meet others from different areas as well. Sure, I'll be the first one to admit I didn't vote for Fresno, but would give those folks a chance to see what they have to offer for that meet. I would also like to go to this one, if only it had a different date, because I know a majority of you folks and wouldn't mind downing a few brews/drinks/fav alcoholic beverage & eat up some choice meat/poultry/ balut j/k so anyways, pardon my ramblings, I just hope all this works out wherein no hostilities occurs between friends & fellow aziners over a meet that's supposed to bring us all auto enhtusiasts together...*sniff* pass the tissue noah...LOL

LOL! but in all reality that's what i feel like too!
i'm with you here Lito! now i feel torn because i do want to support all the work being thrown into the Fresno meet, but like yourself i did not vote for Fresno, only because i've experienced the Fresno heat but if this "other" meet was on a different date, then i definitely wouldn't mind making the trip! my

i'm a bit confused.... the immaturity of the members who started bickering is the reason why I wanted to just take complete control of planning the meet. I said it would be better to have it at SLO, but everyone jumped ship which is fine with me. But we need as much time as we can get to plan this meet, and it should be as fair as possible but at the same time you won't please every single person. i don't care if i don't plan the meet, but its a "service" that i enjoy doing for the community. I just want it to be a successful meet this year even if i don't plan it.
now everyone grow up or we won't even have a meet because no one would want to go, honestly i don't even want to go anymore same with some of my AZine friends..
i will still offer my services to help plan the meet, just say the word

We should change the date and call it the all cali after party
In all seriousness, having two all-cali meets creates division in the group. It is probably better for the whole to have it on a seperate date so there wont be any extra tension/ resentment between the different groups.
We're supposed to be a "community" so as a community we should always try to think of what is better as a community, not as a click. After all, we still have to interract with each other before/ after the meet here on the forums.
Just a thought.
