I know how difficult it is to plan for an event when we keep postponing. It just doesn't make sense to kill ourselves to go on a drive when its just going to be raining.

And I understand its a pain in the butt to keep booking and canceling hotels to do this.

This year's weather has turned out to be a curse and is something we can't control. We went through all last year with a drought and now when we want to do this meet the weather has just not cooperated.

Let me personally apologize in advance and I hope this doesn't discourage people from making this event happen.

 

Im with you on this Mark. I dont want to drive the hill country in the rain.

But for the rest of you, I will be going that weekend regardless. My wife is running a marathon for "Team in Training" for the leukemia society. If the rain doesnt let up and any of you still decide to go I will be more than happy to meet you all out for lunch .

These weather guys don't know. They spoke of this epic freeze about a week ago and it ended up being 65 degrees. Currently this is the weather.com forecast.

They will change this forecast about 8 more times. If you want perfect weather for this, WAIT TILL SUMMER. This is spring...it rains.

Either way, whenever this does happen I'm ready and hope we have a great turnout!

 

I will probably go no matter what, because if it got rescheduled I won't make the next one I hate to say. When I am on call 24x7 I can't keep telling my work that I will be out of town this weekend then I don't go.

Like I had stated above, we'll monitor this through the weekend. I certainly don't want to postpone again. I want this event to happen just as much as the next guy but it doesn't make sense to have an event that the conditions are rainy (or frozen in the extreme case we had before).

Also note that when it rained last time there was a lot of flooding that occurred as well.

I drive my car in the rain, so there is no personal issue with rain. But ask yourself when was the last time you wanted to go on a drive for fun on your own and it was raining. Not my idea of fun, and more so with 20 or more cars.

I'm looking forward to the 17th and lets pray that the weather holds!

 

The weather guys in Austin are HORRIBLE. They blow almost every forcast, constantly. They called for rain all this week off and on, and it hasnt rained ONCE. Its currently cold, but sunshine all around. All the other Austinites I am sure will agree that prediction of rain or shine, all should come...the rain forcasts for the city never really make it to the hill country.

 

I agree with everyone, Weather guys in Austin are on crack, i swear they pull this shit out of their asses. Im down regardless of weather! Ill be checking back in later this week to make sure its still going down

 

The chances are starting to look better for me to make this weekend! Im starting a new job in 2 weeks, So i might just take a week off
