Technically, it's a horizontally-opposed (or "flat") 6. The crank is in the center of 2 banks that (instead of a V6 or V8 that go in a diagonal, upward motion) push outward in a lateral motion. Honda actually makes a flat 6 for the Goldwing motorcycle.
