Don't think I will make it. With Fay around and my boss offering double time on Sat. its a little hard to pass up.
Maybe I can make it after work. How long do you think this will last. Noon maybe??

Yes it starts at 10pm, i'm sure we're gonna go past noon to later in the afternoon. We are bringing three tents out there just in case. With the way Florida weather is I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope it won't rain.. it hasn't rained here(WPB) since Fay left, just crazy cloudy.

I will keep you guys posted as far as any changes for the meet.. As of right now we are still on for Daytona, a 60 percent chance of rain won't hurt anyone.. lol.. if its thunderstorming or anything then we will decide. However I believe because of the rain (and dave said this as well) people will probably not be going (which means we might have a pavillion.. or 4!)

it went down, it rained for 15 minutes at first, then cleared up for an hour, then rained for 4 minutes, then cleared up for the rest of the meet. Me and XP were the only TL's there, and a TSX member came later in the meet.
Pics will be up soon.

It had been raining in Daytona and most of central Florida for four days non-stop. The wind wasn't bad with this storm although there was sporadic damage visible to some hotel signs along the beach. Saturday, the 23rd, was the first time we saw that big yellow ball in the sky for a long time. Other parts of the country may be used to this. But in Florida, the Sunshine State, we are accustomed to having the sun every day!
I went right from my hotel to a DIY car wash. I wasn't going to be seen in public with a dirty NBP TL! This is only the 4th time in it's life my car has seen rain. It's usually sheltered in the garage down in Ft. Lauderdale.
After explaining to the Daytona Beach Shores Police Department that I wasn't loitering but rather waiting for the street to dry before leaving the car wash, I drove about a mile down the beach to the park where the meet was being held. The parking lot in this small, beachside park holds about 60 cars. When I got there about 10:30 AM, half the lot was filled with backed-in Accords....... and one SSM TL whose flashing headlights seemed to welcome a kindred spirit. Yes, it was AJ (csmeance). AZ in da house.
Being a vet of many of these meets, I am well aware that if you get half of those who say they are coming, you are doing pretty good. So, I was suitably impressed with the turnout of our Accord cousins.
There was plenty of food and drinks... togther with volunteer burger flippers...to fill everyone. A couple of canopies were set up for some shelter and the weather broke into blue skys and sunshine.![Woot](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/woot.gif)
AZ was well represented by an eager, if small contingent. XP (Dave) and csmeance (AJ). Oh, and the TSX.
AZ (me) made a little speech and announced that we were awarding gift bag prizes in about a dozen catagories. We then recognized the person who had driven the farthest (Tallahassee), then also Ft. Lauderdale (4) and Pompano Beach. Everyone who had more than 200,000 miles showing also got a gift bag. Then there was a "Best of Meet" award (people's choice) that went to a purple blown Accord Coupe which could have also gotten an award for the most stickers if there was one.
And then, a special recognition for the most unusual car..... an Accord wagon with scissors doors (you know: like a Lambo). That guy got a watch.
I also have some pics but can't post them until I get home to my desktop.
In spite of our numbers, we made lots of new friends for AZ. And remember: many Acura owners started as Honda owners. It's all in the family.
(But, Dave! What was in the prize bags?)
The bags themselves were either back-packs, brief cases, or canvas type shopping bags. Lots of candy, pens, frisbies, calculators, coozies, flash drives, baseball caps, key chain lights, assorted swag.
Oh, yeah. AJ got the prize for the Best in Show Acura. I disqualified myself because I was handling the prizes so he won by default.
I got to meet his family (very nice folks) and visit with them after the meet.
