gonna haveta disagree with u there partner..i drove for about 2 hours from SJ and hung around for a while....met some new cool folks & got to learn some stuff, especially those friggin cabin filters that i would have never guessed even needed changing... but besides from noah being almost left behind coz he was late it turned out to be a good meet even tho i booked it after the warehouse pics were taken...the traffics goin home was a beeeyatch tho...

I am really glad that everyone enjoyed the meet All we did was throwing in some ideas and it turned out to be awesome. Honestly, I dont like huge crowds of people, I like small, cozy "parties" like the one we had.

^^^ its just so funny that it would be something so simple that would normally be charged a high fee at the stealership

I got it for $17 including tax from Kragen. It took me like 10 minutes to do the whole thing lol stealerships always suck. BMW and Lexus are the worst when it comes to service. VW is right behind them and Honda is on its tail LOL

^^^ gotta agree...i used to own a 535i and man, when something needed changing, my wallet ran for cover out the door..wailing like a banshee...and that was even when the parts were discounted via my brother's shop before...geez-us!!

That is the MAJOR reason why I chose Acura over BMW. not only the parts are somewhat cheaper, but the basic maintenance (filters, oil, wipers, brakes) can be done by the owner or nearest shop. My friend's parents leased an 05 ? VW Touareg and the brakes got worn off every 11k miles. Now the problem was that changing pads wasnt the solution. The whole assembly had to be swapped for a new one and all that added up to......................... $1500 !!! Parts were available only through the dealer and "smart" AWD system bade the whole vehicle vibrate and rattle if 1 tire had a bit more thread left than the other. By that I mean 4 MM. An oil change cost them around $50. Now they got 528i and I am waiting to hear new horror stories from them. As for Acura, full set of brake pads costs around $40 and can be changed by the owner. Oil is available for $15? + filter ($10 for Mobil 1). Closest shop charges $20 for labor, but I prefer to do it myself. Car never breaks. Believe me, on a long run, it makes a HUGE difference in price and expenses

imho, its never a waste of my time to go to these meets coz its good to see familiar faces & meet new people sharing the same problems, solutions, etc etc..beats therapy..LOL

i'm changing mine next week..lol gotta convince noah to show me his newly acquired cabin filter changing skills...plus, will most likely end up helping him install his cf hood while downing a few brewskies...
