If I try to kick some ass, I might break a hip. Newbie initiation will happen to us all.

Ilana (Street Spirit) tried to get me to give her my '03 clear tailights at the Toronto meet. She said it was a newbie initiation, and she sounded so serious at first that I actually had to stop and think if it was a joke or not.

Hello all. I'm not exactly new to the forum, however I have never ventured out of the TL community so I didn't realize there were meets so close to home. Going to a meet and seeing all your bad assed Acura’s sounds awesome.
Here's my only set back, my TL is a lease, does this negate me from being invited? If not, I am off that weekend and would love to try and make it. Please let me know and thanks in advance,,,

Sorry, Strech. OWNERS only at this meet.

Just kidding. All are welcome. We even have this really stupid Audi owner coming, too.

Bring the wife, too. We're gonna go go-karting after the park, then hit up the bars after that.

Yeah, I ran it by her all ready and she didn't seem as excited about it as I am. If I come I will more than likely be bringing a friend or my father in law. Wifey doesn't have the same enthusiasm as I do with cars. Silly girl.

Eh, we talk about cars for like 20 minutes, then it becomes a picnic, sitting around shooting the shit, while drinking some cold ones. Then it's go-kart time.

Whereabouts in Michigan are you located?

Pure Adrenaline is right. The wives/girlfriends will have just as good a time. TL-Cat talked about cars (summer shoes/winter shoes) as much as I did. It's everything else that makes the day. Join us and make new friends.

There is no reservation required for groups of less than 50 people, so we can just pick any place we want in the park.

Please look at this map.

http://www.metroparks.com/global/stony_creek_map.php

The park's address is 4300 Main Park Road, Shelby Township, MI 48316-4907.

The toll (4 dollars per vehicle) is located in the southeast corner of the park, off of 26 Mile Road. Follow the road, and you will see Ridgewood Picnic and Lakeview Picnic on the east side of the park on the map. They are basically across the road from each other, on the lakefront. I'm thinking we should pick one of these places (if one's too crowded or whatever). This way, we can enjoy the view of the lake, and have fun tossing people in the water, too. (Not gonna say who )

So I say we plan for Ridgewood or Lakeview Picnic (Lakeview will be the first choice). If it's too full, then we'll relocate; in which case, please call my cell phone number to find out where we are, if you show up and don't see us! The number is 248-506-7873 (make prank calls and die ).

Here's the schedule I've come up with for now.

2-3 PM --> everyone meets up at the park at Lakeview Picnic (if you don't see us, try Ridgewood; or call me)

2-5 PM --> grille some food, hang out, throw the ball around, and drink some cold ones if you're of legal age. (this time, I will bring the football and the frisbee, since someone forgot last time )

At around 5 or 6 o'clock (depending on how we do at the park), we'll go to Kart2Kart for some go-kart action. It is 20 dollars per person per 10-minute session, so please plan your finances accordingly (not the older guys... you guys have jobs and money ). It's a bit pricey, yes, but these are serious go-karts, and helmets and neck braces are provided. You're gonna have lots of fun, I promise.

We'll be at Kart2Kart for an hour or more, but we should be done by 7 o'clock. After this, we're going out to dinner! Right now, the plan is to go to BD's Mongolian BBQ, but if anyone has a suggestion, then please let us know!

After dinner, some people will go to their hotel, freshen and get ready for the bars in downtown Pontiac. Most people won't have a hotel room, but you'll be more than welcome to use the room to get ready and whatnot. It's gonna be an all-night drunkfest, so come prepared to get wasted. We'll probably hit up the Dueling Piano Bar first, and get boozed up, then hit up a club/dance-type bar.

Alrighty, that's the plan for now. Open to suggestions!!

Should we start the sign up lists yet? I've also got TL-Cat's nephew and his buddy coming from the west side (the buddy has a RSX S type, dropped, wheels, etc- says he wants to run me on the twisties). So count at least 2 more in.

Of course. You can't wear sandals in the winter.

I'm gonna try to be there as soon as I can before 2 to get a spot and a grille and get it started.

The italicized section of the plan has been changed. We're no longer going to downtown Pontiac. Instead, we'll be going to downtown Rochester Hills.

Here are some addresses for your Mapquesting pleasure --

Stoney Creek Park --
4300 Main Park Road, Shelby Township, MI 48316-4907

Kart2Kart --
42705 Van Dyke Ave, Sterling Heights, MI 48314-3335

Mongolian BBQ --
13150 Hall Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48313-1164

Then if you would like to freshen up and get ready for the bars, you're more than welcome to use the hotel room, which is located at --
2580 CROOKS ROAD, Rochester, MI 48309

From there, we'll be going to downtown Rochester to hit up the bars.

Sure; burgers, brats, hot dogs, whatever.

And, yeah, Auburn Hills is still a nice area.

Alright... here's the sign up list for things we need.

We will need charcoal, lighter fluid, utensils, aluminum foil, burgers, hot dogs, bratwursts, and any other food you want to bring. We also need some refreshments, brewskies, chips, etc. Entertainment will include football, frisbee, etc. NO WATER GUNS this time. Add anything else you can think of.

Pure Adrenaline -- football, frisbee, charcoal, lighter fluid (I'll bring other things if not fulfilled)

Fine, I'll be there grilling by myself. Jesal's lazy ass doesn't want to come out 'til 3, either. You can bring whatever you want, and sign up for it.

I thought brownies had a higher count of melanin, therefore less susceptible to the harmful UV rays in the sun.

Or maybe you're just a wuss.

Well I knew this was working out to good to be true, as I was very excited about going to my first meet. But I just got reminded last night at work that my company golf outing is Saturday. It starts sometime around 9AM. There is a slight possibility that I can come afterwards but I can't say for sure. I will watch for the final itinerary and depending on when and where you guy's are I will try to make it, if I can still drive after the golf outing.
I'm sorry to everyone for any inconvenience. I will still try and make it if possible.

Pure Adrenaline -- football, frisbee, charcoal, lighter fluid (I'll bring other things if not fulfilled)
Crazy Sellout -- loose women
dragonlord -- beer (please inform what kind of beer)

I like Bud Light.

By the way, I just want to say that even though I love boozing as much as the next guy, we shouldn't drink too much since we'll be go-karting afterwards. For those of you who haven't been there, these karts are fast. Let's not get too tipsy and try to crash Jennifer off the course.

Saturday, huh? I'll be in Rochester Hills to polish my car. But I was planning to be in Ann Arbor for dinner.

The Metropark's a nice place for a meet. Went to one there before.
