Guys! check out "CRAIGSLIST" this is where I bought mine I juast paid $500 with 202k dec'06 and still runs well. Yea! of course I had to replace and fix few things but so far its doin' the job right now its at 227k 
...... I call it "THE CAMEL" only needs water (gas) to run hahahaha!

I think I'm going to look for an old 98 eclipse...I've always wanted one, but I think they would probably have a lot of issues unlike a Honda.

I've already been thru the $500 beaters. I've been "upgrading" since then. I figured if I spend a little more, the less work I have to put into them. If a beater costs me $500 for six months of service, I figure its worth it. So far my plan has been working well.
$250 - 90 geo metro lasted 7 months (drove it to thejunkyard)
$500 - 90 crx lasted 6 months (sold it at 230k for $500)
$700 - 87 subaru dl turbo (blew the turbo at 6 months, drove it tothe junkyard)
$350 - 92 dodge shadow (moms old car, broke the rusted crossmember 1 1/2 years later and sold for $300)
$1700 - 95 eddie bauer explorer....still going after 2 years! gas, oil change and go (like the "camel",lol)
Next one I'll spend up to $4000 and hopefully get 5 yers out of it.

If there's SNOW on the ground we push it to the weekend after. Still 40 days to go for the meet but we NEW ENGLANDER'S know pretty much how to deal with this crazy weather.
