We should know more by tonight or early tomorrow morning, it doesn't look good...........
Best thing to do is check the hourly forcast on weather.com. Perhaps it won't start raining until 12 noon and we can get some runs done in the morning.

Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service
...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY 401 PM EST THU NOV 14 2002

RAIN WELL IN ADVANCE OF THIS SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE IN THE REGION TOWARD DAYBREAK SATURDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH PARTS OF SUNDAY. AREAS WELL INLAND FROM THE COAST MAY BE COLD ENOUGH FOR SOME SNOW OR SLEET EARLY IN THE EVENT...BUT THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD CHANGE TO ALL RAIN BY ABOUT MIDDAY SATURDAY.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS ACROSS THE REGION ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 1 TO 2 INCH RANGE WITH A FEW LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. THIS IS NOT EXPECTED TO CAUSE ANY SIGNIFICANT FLOODING AT THIS TIME...BUT LOCALIZED FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS MAY BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY WHERE FALLEN LEAVES HAVE CLOGGED STORM DRAINS.

...COASTAL FLOODING...
TIDE LEVELS ARE AT ASTRONOMICALLY LOW LEVELS AT THIS TIME. STORM SURGES AHEAD OF THE WEEKEND STORM WILL LIKELY RISE TO ABOUT 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL...WHICH COULD CAUSE SOME MINOR COASTAL FLOODING DURING THE SUNDAY MORNING HIGH TIDE CYCLE...ESPECIALLY IN THOSE LOCATIONS MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO COASTAL FLOODING.

I say cancel this thing quick. No sense pissing people off that drive all the way down there just to have to drive back.
You know they'll close the place in a heartbeat if there is any chance of a wet track. Way too much liability on their part.

GOOD NEWS!
http://www.etownraceway.com/
check out the website, it says :
"RACEWAY PARK HAS EXTENDED THE RACING SEASON BY ONE WEEK
ALL ACTIVITIES FROM N0VEMBER 16 & 17
have been rescheduled to November 23 & 24"
that means Acura Wars is *ON* for next weekend! Lets hope for no rain!
Now i have to figure out if I want to drive all the way back to NJ again for the meet (I live in Northern Virginia, but my parents live in NJ).. Hmm, decisions decisions.
